The shooting of Apurba-Mehazabien starrer TV play ‘Pran Priyo’ has been called off and all the cast and crew members have gone into home quarantine after two of them tested positive for COVID-19.

The shooting unit of 22 members began filming on 7 July. Before that, all of them tested for coronavirus and their results came negative.

On the first day of the shoot, however, two members of the shooting unit felt sick. They were asked to get the tests done again by the production team. The result of their tests came positive on 8 July evening.

Mizanur Rahman Aryan, director of the play, has paused shooting of the play until further notice immediately after that.

“This is unfortunate for us. The play would have been complete if we could shoot two more scenes. The infected two had no major symptoms but we had to pack up as their results came positive,” he told Prothom Alo.

Ziaul Faruq Apurba, lead actor of the play, said that they had started shooting following all the health guidelines.

“There was no lack of security in the shooting spot. However, we have nothing to do now. I’m in home quarantine. Mehazabien and I will test again in one or two days,” he said.

Mehazabien said she had taken the issue seriously.

“I have been keeping myself isolated from my family since 8 July and will soon undergo a test again,” she told Prothom Alo.
