A group of music maestros from Bangladesh and India under Malhar Group appeared online on Friday evening to welcome monsoon in a classical music event Malhar Sondhya.

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka organised the event, said a news release.

Exponent of Rabindranath Tagore songs and ICCR alumnus Rezwana Choudhury Bannya from Bangladesh presented melodious Rabindra Malhar based on a mix of Malhar raagas with basics of Raaga Miyan ki Malhar.

Pundit Swarnamay Chakraborty, renowned classical vocalist from Bangladesh, also rendered Raaga Megh Malhar.

Eminent flutist from India, Kiran Kumar Sharma gave a beautiful and melodious performance on Raag Miyaan Ki Malhar on flute while sarod player Rajrupa Chowdhury presented Raag Miyaan Ki Malhar followed by a brief composition on Mirabai ki Malhar.
