Deer skin, meat seized in Sundarbans

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard on Sunday seized meat, head and skin of a slaughtered deer during a drive near Mirgamari canal of Sundarbans in Mongla upazila, reports UNB.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Coast Guard seized 10 kilograms of venison, a head of deer and its skin in the morning, said staff officer lieutenant commander Abdullah-al- Mamun of Mongla west zone (operation) of Coast Guard.

No one was arrested over the matter as the poachers managed to flee after sensing presence of law enforcers, he said.
