Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday evening forecast rain and thundershowers in most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in the next 24 hours, reports UNB.
In a regular bulletin, the BMD said, “Light to moderate rain, thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.”
The same was forecast for a few places over Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions.
About synoptic situation, it said that the axis of monsoon runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, SubHimaliyan, West Bengal to Assam across Rangpur division of Bangladesh.
"Monsoon is active over northern part and fairly active elsewhere over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay,” it said.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country, it added.
