Rain, thundershowers likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday forecast light to moderate rain, thundershowers with gusty wind for many places of the country till Sunday evening, reports UNB.

In a regular bulletin, the BMD said “light to moderate rain, thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Barishal, Chattogram, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.”

The same was forecast for a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

The BMD also disclosed that the axis of monsoon trough was running through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs was extending up to North Bay.

Monsoon was fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay, it added.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
