A fire at a huge military ammunition depot in Chad's capital N'Djamena has killed at least nine people and wounded another 46, the health minister said Wednesday.

The minister, Abdelmadjid Abderahim, told journalists the toll was in danger of rising as many of those wounded were in an "extremely serious" condition.
