Kate Reid is known as the Queen of Croissant and her Lune Croissanterie in Melbourne is dedicated to the creation of delectable croissants. Even the most expert of chefs might quake somewhat if asked to make a croissant for Kate. But Kishwar won nothing but praise when she presented her special Calcutta Croissant before this queen.

Kate Reid turned up at the Masterchef kitchen in a recent episode of the show and the contestants were challenged to create a croissant that wasn't quite a typical croissant. And Kate would judge.

Kate Reid, the Queen of Croissant

Kishwar this time turned to her mother's Kolkata roots. Back in the day, there had been a famous Calcutta Croissant and this Bangladesh-origin home chef decided to give it a try. She used Chantilly pastry, which resembles a croissant. She made the difference by stuffing the pastry with a soft ricotta cheese. Then in the Calcutta Croissant style, she drizzled chocolate syrup on top and added a few pretty flower petals.

Kate took a bite of Kishwar's creation and exclaimed that it was perfect. She loved the innovate idea of stuffing Chantilly pastry with ricotta cheese.

It was obvious that Kate was impressed by Kishwar's concoction. Kishwar is a great favourite among the viewers too. Her official social media pages are www.facebook.com/kishwarmasterchef and www.instagram.com/kishwar_chowdhury. Her fans swamp her pages with words of praise and encouragement.

Concocting her croissant

One of her fans, Masuma Mou, said that Kishwar's Calcutta Croissant reminded her of the cream rolls she's take for 'tiffin' as a child. Bijoy Saha wrote that he and his sister in Kolkata both watch Masterchef for Kishwar's cooking. "Best wishes for Kishwar," he writes.
