BCB announces squad for U-19 Asia Cup

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday announced the final squad of Bangladesh team for ACC U19 Asia Cup Bangladesh 2018.

Tawhid Hridoy was named as captain while Shamim Hossain his deputy for U-19 Asia Cup.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) earlier announced final itinerary for the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) U-19 Asia Cup Bangladesh 2018, scheduled to be held between 29 September and 7 October in Dhaka and Chattogram.

Eight Asian countries - India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Nepal and UAE, split into two groups -- will compete in the 50-over-a-side matches.

Afghanistan, India, Nepal and UAE were placed in Group A while Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Hong Kong put Group B.

The group A matches will be held at BKSP ground in Dhaka while the Group B matches will be played at MA Aziz Stadium and Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram as all the matches of Cox’s Bazar were shifted to Dhaka.

On completion of the group matches, top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. Afghanistan U-19 comes into the tournament as the defending champions from the 2017 edition held in Malaysia.
