Shoriful ruled out of India Tests
Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam has been ruled out of the ongoing two-Test series against India after suffering a hamstring injury on Wednesday, confirmed a source from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The left-arm pacer hurt himself during a fielding drill at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram hours before the first Test began.
He left the field limping, with the help of physio Bayjedul Islam and trainer Nick Lee.
According to the source, Shoriful won’t recover in time for the second Test of the series, which will begin in Dhaka on 22 December.
Shoriful wasn’t picked in the XI for the Chattogram Test as the Tigers went with a two pacer attack of Khaled Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain.
Shoriful was not initially a part of the Test squad and was added later as a backup for Taskin Ahmed, who is not fully fit.
