Shakib Al Hassan, banned for one year from all forms of cricket, visited the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) headquarters in Dhaka on Sunday.

Confirming this, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told Prothom Alo that it was a courtesy call.

"Shakib is the goodwill ambassador of ACC. He visited us not for any serious reasons. He often visits us whenever he can manage time," said Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya.

The star all-rounder stayed at the ACC office around half an hour and met ACC chairman Iqbal Mahmood and other officials.

"Shakib was not involved with any corruption. ACC will always stand beside him," said anti-graft watchdog chairman Iqbal Mahmood on 31 October.

Shakib's visit comes four days after the International Cricket Council (ICC) banned him for two years from all forms of cricket with one year suspension for failing to report three approaches by an alleged bookie.
