731 to be recommended for non-cadre posts

Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) is set to recommend recruiting 731 candidates of 37th and 39th BCS to non-cadre posts.

A decision to this end will be finalised at a special meeting on Wednesday, a reliable source at PSC has confirmed to Prothom Alo.

According to the information obtained by Prothom Alo, PSC made a recommendation to recruit 167 candidates from 37th and 564 from 39th BCS.

Incidentally, the 37th BCS was a general one while the 39th BCS was only for physicians.

A total of 243,476 candidates participated in the examination. Of them, 8,523 candidates passed the preliminary examination and a total of 5,379 candidates came out successful in the written examinations.

Of them, 465 cadidates are enlisted as general cadres, 272 as assistant surgeons, 51 as dental surgeons, 316 for other categories and 210 for education cadres.

Also, a total of 3,454 candidates are kept on the waiting list for non-cadre posts.

The preliminary test of the 39th special BCS was held on 3 August where 37,583 job-seekers vied for 4,542 assistant surgeon posts and 250 dental surgeon posts, according to BPSC.

A total 13, 219 candidates have come out successful for assistant surgeon post while 531 candidates for assistant dental surgeon post, said a press release of BPSC.
