DU teachers, students protest at attack on Zafar Iqbal
Dhaka University Teachers' Association (DUTA) formed a human chain on the campus on Monday protesting at the attack on professor Mohammed Zafar Iqbal, reports UNB.
The association held the human chain around 11:00am at Aparajeya Bangla premises. Dhaka University vice-chancellor professor Md Akhtaruzzaman also attended the human chain.
They demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, teachers and students of the Institute of Fine Arts and Bangladesh Charu Shilpi Sangstha jointly held a protest rally condemning the attack in front of the institute at the same time.
Besides, Sammilito Samajik Andolon held a protest rally in front of Bangladesh National Museum at Shahbagh in the morning.
Zafar Iqbal came under knife attack on the campus of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on Saturday afternoon.
He is now undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the city.
