JU to reopen halls on 11 Oct

The authorities of Jahangirnagar University have decided to reopen the residential halls on 11 October for the students, BSS reports.

The decision was taken on Saturday night at a virtual syndicate meeting with JU vice-chancellor Professor Farzana Islam in the chair.

JU syndicate member and treasurer of the university Professor Rasheda Akhtar confirmed the matter to BSS.

According to the decision, all dormitories of the university will be reopened on 11 October and class activities will restart from 21 October. Classes will be taken both online and in person.

The central library will also be reopened for students, said Professor Rasheda Akhtar.

Earlier on Wednesday, the JU academic council recommended that the university could reopen the residential halls from 21 October.
