Officer-in-charge of Teknaf police station Pradip Kumar Das has been relieved of his duties over the killing of former army major Sinha Md Rashed Khan in police firing.
An assistant inspector general of police confirmed this to Prothom Alo on Wednesday.
ABM Doha replaces Pradip.
Earlier on Wednesday morning, Rashed Khan’s sister Sharmin Shariya filed a case in Cox’s Bazar senior judicial magistrate's court accusing nine people including Pradip and inspector Liaqat Ali.
In the case statement, Sharmin accused Liaqat killed Sinha after getting a nod from Pradip.
Shortly after the incident of firing, Pradip reached the scene and kicked at the face and body of Sinha to confirm his death, said the case statement.
Pradip joined as Teknaf OC in 2018.
