BRAC art installation salutes women as the catalysts of change

As the epilogue of its year-long observances marking 50 years of its founding, BRAC is organising a three-day long festival, of culture, stories, crafts, music and art, titled ‘Hope Festival’ at Bangladesh Army Stadium in the capital on 9, 10 and 11 February 2023. Everyone is welcome to take part in the festival by simply visiting the website https://brachopefestival.net/ and registering for the event, says a press release.

As a part of the Hope Festival's pre-activity, BRAC has installed a thematic artwork at TSC, Dhaka University from today (26 Jan) depicting BRAC's vision, mission, and five decades of journey. The artwork, inspired by one of BRAC’s DNAs, "women are at the heart of all of our work.

As teachers, community health workers, development professionals, progarmme participants, clients, artisans, and entrepreneurs, they drive intergenerational change and build stronger communities and economies" -- will be on display in public from January 26 to 1 February 2023.

This artwork will be reinstalled and displayed at the Aarong's flagship store in Tejgaon from 2 - 7 February.

BRAC Hope Festival aims at igniting hope and inspiration among the young generation of Bangladesh. With this spirit each of the day is designed with programmes and performances with a particular theme. “A tribute to Bangladesh”, “Power of potential”, and “Building a world we want” will be the themes for the first, second, and third day respectively. Education, economic empowerment, gender equality, climate change, and mental health are the key focus areas of all the programmes, sessions, and performances in this festival.

The ecosystem of BRAC brand will be presented through a series of installations and programmes, which will demonstrate the multifaceted social development programmes, social enterprises, university, and investments operated under its umbrella.

Bkash, BRAC Bank, IPDC Finance, and BRAC University are the proud partners of the Hope Festival, says the release.
