Foyzur confesses to guilt
Foyzur Rahman alias Faizul on Sunday gave confessional statement before a magistrate court in a case over the attack on noted author and physicist Mohammad Zafar Iqbal, reports UNB.
Sylhet metropolitan magistrate Haridas Kumar recorded his statement under section 164 when Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Jalalabad police Station and also the investigation officer of the case, produced Foyzur before the court after expiry of his 10-day remand.
Earlier on 8 March Foyzur was placed on a 10-day remand.
Foyzur stabbed professor Zafar Iqbal with a knife at the Mukta Mancha at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology during a celebration programme, ‘Robofight,’ of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department on 3 March.
