Language veteran Abdul Matin passes away

Language movement veteran Abdul Matin died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital on Wednesday morning. He was 88.

BSMMU director confirmed Prothom Alo that Abdul Matin breathed his last at about 9:00am.
The language movement veteran underwent a surgery at the BSMMU after he suffered a stroke on August 18.

He was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital on August 19.

Later, he was kept on life support at the BSMMU following deterioration of his condition.

Abdul Matin had played a significant role in the Language Movement in 1952.
