Mahi B Chy’s ancestral house ‘attacked’

Bikalpa Dhara joint secretary general Mahi B Chowdhury's ancestral house in Sreenagar upazila of Munshiganj came under attack on Wednesday night, reports UNB.

Mahi's personal assistant Abdullah Al Mamun said, the gun attack took place around 8:45pm while four to five rounds of bullets were fired.

Mahi B Chowdhury and his family members were not home during the attack, he added.

Yunus Ali, officer-in-charge of Shreenagar police station said the police recovered a bullet shell from the spot.

"Police are investigating the firing," Yunus Ali added.

The criminals attacked the house from behind and soon fled, the OC added.

Mahi B Chowdhury, son of Bikalpadhara president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, is supposed to contest in the impending national election for Narsingdi-1 constituency as his party joined the ruling Awami League-led coalition.
