Sohagi's body to be exhumed

A Comilla court on Monday ordered the body of Sohagi Jahan Tonu, a theatre activist and second year history student of Comilla Government Victoria College, to be exhumed for fresh autopsy.

Additional chief magistrate Zoynab Begum passed the order after an appeal from the police.
Meanwhile, agitating students of Comilla Victoria College Theatre Group, announced the Shaheed Minar premises of the college as ‘Tonu Mancha’.

They said they will continue their demonstration till the culprits are brought to justice.
The students of different colleges across the country continued their agitation programmes, including human chains, protesting at the killing of Tonu on the day.

They expressed their concern over violation of rights and killing of women inside an area that has tight security. It shows how unsafe women are in this country, they said.

Seven days have passed since Sohagi was killed on the night of 20 March in the Comilla Cantonment area, yet the law enforcement agencies have failed to arrest anyone in this connection. Sohagi’s family was quizzed on Friday night and Saturday.
