Second-timers’ 5 marks to be cut in MBBS, BDS entry tests

The merit list of the second-time admission seekers in medical and dental colleges will be made cutting five marks from their total marks for 2017-18 academic session, reports UNB.

Besides, 7.5 marks will be cut from the second time admission seekers for government colleges.

The decision came from a meeting related to the admission for MBBS and BDS course for the 2017-18 with health and family planning minister Mohammad Nasim in the chair at the Secretariat on Sunday.

It was also decided that the BDS course will be made for five years from the next academic session.

Health and family planning secretary M Sirajul Islam, Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) president Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Medical University (BSMMU) vice-chancellor Kamrul Hasan Khan and director general of Health Services professor Abul Kalam Azad, among others, were present in the meeting.
