Simeen Mahmud dies
Simeen Mahmud, a BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD) senior researcher and wife of senior economist Wahiduddin Mahmud, died in the US early Monday.
On Sunday, she was under life support at Auburn Hospital in Harvard, according to Wahiduddin Mahmud's Facebook status.
Wahiduddin Mahmud, also a former caretaker government adviser, requested all to pray for her departed soul.
She was the elder daughter of MN Huda, who was finance adviser to the government of Bangladesh and also a vice president.
Simeen Mahmud studied Statistics at Dhaka University and Medical Demography at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
She was a research director in the Population Studies Division at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies.
