Zafar Iqbal's 'attacker' identified
The suspected attacker, who stabbed professor Muhammed Zafar Iqbal on Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) campus on Saturday, has been identified as Foyzur Rahman aka Foyzul, 24.
Foyzul, son of Hafizur Rahman, used to live near SUST campus at Sheikhpara of Kumargaon with his family. He hailed from Jagannathpur upazila of Sunamganj.
According to local people, Foyzul used to introduce himself as a madrasa student. But the locals did not know where he actually had studied.
Foyzul's father Hafizur Rahman is a teacher of a madrasa at Tukerbazar area near Sylhet-Sunamganj road. Hafizur did not answer when he was reached over phone at 9:00pm on Saturday. Later, his cell phone was found switched off.
