Three more BNP activists detained from Nightingale intersection

Police arrested three more BNP activists from Nightingale intersection at Kakrail in Dhaka around 11:40 am on Thursday as a group of BNP leaders and activists gathered there after being barred by police from entering the party's office at Naya Paltan.  

Earlier, the law enforcement agency didn't allow the BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to enter the party office.

Police have closed the roads from Nightingale intersection in Kakrail towards the BNP office in Naya Paltan following a clash between the law enforcement and the BNP leaders and activists in the Naya Paltan area on Wednesday afternoon.

Police claimed to have recovered 15 cocktails from the BNP office and defused those.

In the clash, one person was killed and dozens injured with detaining hundreds of leaders and activists, including the party’s senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
