Ex-chief whip ASM Firoz arrested

Former chief whip of the Jatiya Sangsad (parliament) ASM Firoz has been arrested.

The police arrested the Awami League leader from his Banani residence Friday night, the media and public relations wing of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said.

The DMP, however, did not say why he had been arrested.

ASM Firoz, an MP from Patuakhali-2 constituency, was the chief whip of the 10th parliament.
