DNCC driver arrested over death of Ahsan Kabir : RAB

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Friday arrested the driver of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) garbage disposal truck over the death of Ahsan Kabir Khan, 48, a former employee of Prothom Alo, reports UNB.

The detainee was identified as Mohammad Hanif, RAB said in a statement.

The details will be announced at a press conference at RAB's media centre at Karwan Bazar on Saturday.

Earlier on Thursday, Kabir, fell on the road opposite while riding a motorcycle near Bashundhara shopping mall before being overrun by the speeding truck around 2:30pm.

Golam Rabbani, a sub-inspector of Kalabagan police station, rescued him from the spot and took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared him dead around 4.00pm.
