Three Bangladeshis have been brought back from Afghanistan and the process to bring back others is on, the state minister for foreign affairs has said.

Md Shahriar Alam on Monday said the government will take steps if any Bangladeshis, who are in trouble, contact the embassy.

Speaking to newsmen, the state minister said Bangladesh will extend its cooperation if a permanent government goes to power in Afghanistan.

"We don't want to be influenced by any third power in taking a decision about Afghanistan. We want restoration of peace for the sake of regional development. Afghan people have the capability and let them use that competence to stand on their own feet," Shahriar Alam told newsmen.
