IU forms panel to probe teacher’s leaked audio clip

The authorities of Islamic University in Kushtia on Friday formed a three member body to probe a leaked audio clip involving English department professor M Mizanur Rahman and a female student, UNB reports.

The university authorities also suspended him from the post of director of Teacher, Student Cultural Center of the university.

IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif told UNB that vice-chancellor professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari formed the body headed by IU Law Faculty dean professor Khalima Khatun over the leaked audio clip containing indecent conversation between Mizan and a female student that went viral on social media Facebook.

The other members of the probe body are- IU Management Department professor M Saiful Islam and Deshratna Sheikh Hasina Hall provost professor Shelina Nasrin.

The body was asked to submit its report as early as possible.

The university authorities also served a show-cause notice on Mizan asking him to explain why action would not be taken against him within seven days of receiving it, Latif added.
