Road crashes kill 2

At least two people were killed and two others were injured in separate road accidents in Madaripur and Satkhira districts.

In Madaripur, a housewife was killed as a bus hit her after the driver lost his control over steering on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Shibchar upazila on Monday morning.

The deceased is Aklima Begum, 36.

The district's Shibchar highway police officer-in-charge Masudur Rahman said the driver managed to flee the scene after the incident. Police have seized the bus, the OC added.

In Satkhira district, a shrimp trader was killed and two others were injured in Debhata area of the district.

The deceased is Rafiqul Islam, 52.

Debhata police sub-inspector Sirajul Islam said injured Hasina Begum, 55, and Jannatul Ferdaus,8, were sent to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
