Cox’s Bazar landslide kills 2 children

Two children were killed and six people injured in a landslide triggered by heavy rain in Teknaf municipality area of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday morning, reports UNB.

The deceased are Mehedi Hasan, 11 , son of Rabiul Alam and Alifa, 5, daughter of Mohammad Alam of Puratan Pallanpara area of the upazila.

A chunk of mud fell on the houses at the foot of a hill in the morning, leaving eight people injured, said Teknaf upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Rabiul Hasan. 

Physicians at Teknaf upazila health complex declared the two children dead when they were taken to the hospital, he said.

Among the injured, one was admitted to the health complex while others were given first aid.
