Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Monday said all offenders will be brought to justice, no matter who they are, reports UNB.

"There's nothing like godfather, grandfather or big fish to us. We only know offenders. Criminals will be brought to justice, no matter who they are," he said while talking to reporters at the secretariat.

The minister said they came to know about some illegal and tender traders recently. "Law enforcers are working to arrest those involved in those. We're bringing the offenders to book, no matter what their politician affiliations are."

Responding to a query about government's 'failure' to spot casinos so far, he said it took action whenever they (casino owners) were spotted and recently two big elements were surfaced. "Such drives also took place in the past."

Asked whether they have issued red alert at airports or land ports so that criminals who have gone into hiding cannot flee the country, Asaduzzaman said nothing happened so far for which red alert should be issued.

"All the airports and immigration offices have lists of criminals provided by the ministry. Normally, no offender can leave the country through airports. This is a continuous process," he said.
