7-yr-old boy killed, mother injured in road crash

A head-on collision between a three-wheeler and a pickup van in the town left a seven-year-old boy dead and his mother injured, reports UNB.

The deceased was Nazmul Hasan, son of Md Abdul Quader and Nasima Begum, 23, of Betagi upazila in Barguna.

The accident took place at Mission Road Shahi Zame Masjid intersection.

Anwar Hossain, sub-inspector of Chandpur model police station, said Nasima and Nazmul were going to Noakhali from Chandpur Launch Ghat by a three-wheeler which collided with a pickup van.

The mother and her son were injured in the accident. They were taken to Chandpur Government General Hospital where the physicians pronounced the child dead.

Police seized the pickup van. The woman is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
