67 DU students expelled

The Dhaka University authorities have expelled 67 of its students on various charges including leaking question papers of the admission test and fraudulence.

The university’s Disciplinary Board (DB) took the decision on Tuesday morning.

Of them, 63 were banned on charges of question paper leak and fraudulence while four others on possessing arms and taking narcotics.

Also, the university suspended 13 more students temporarily over mugging and two others for beating up journalists. The suspended were show caused and asked to clarify their stance over them matter.

Earlier on 23 June, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) pressed two charge sheets against 87 students among 125 at the court.

As many as 15 of them were earlier expelled over the issues. A total of 78 students were expelled over leaking the question papers.

“We won’t spare the frauds. It’s matter of the university’s reputation. Some days back, four residents of Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall were expelled,” said proctor professor AKM Golam Rabbani.
