Saifur Rahman new Bangladesh envoy to South Africa
The government has appointed Noor-E Helal Saifur Rahman, currently serving as deputy high commissioner in Karachi, Pakistan, as the new High Commissioner of Bangladesh to South Africa, reports UNB.
High Commissioner-designate Rahman is a career foreign service officer belonging to the 15th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) foreign affairs cadre.
In his diplomatic career, Rahman served in various capacities in Bangladesh missions in Islamabad, Paris, Singapore and Kuwait, said the foreign ministry on Tuesday.
At the headquarters, he worked in various capacities in different wings including director general (Africa) and director general (external publicity).
Saifur Rahman obtained his Bachelor and Master Degree in Bangla language and literature from the Dhaka University.
He also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
He attended ‘International Management Programme’ in the MIT, United States and also completed National Defence Course (NDC) in Bangladesh in 2013.
