Youths must be the drivers of growth: Industries minister

Industries minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Wednesday said youths are the main force of today’s Bangladesh’s economic growth, progress and development, reports UNB.

“Their energetic and brave dedication has given impetus to trade and the economy,” he said.

He said this speaking on the 15th day of the 16-day-long "Bijoyer 50 Bochhor: Laal Sobujer Mohotshab " organized by FBCCI.

The industries minister said that the rock singers of this country have played a special role in inculcating democratic culture, spirit of liberation war and patriotism in the youth, according to a press release.

Speaking as the special guest, state minister for youth and sports Md Zahid Ahsan Russel said Bangabandhu has taken war-torn Bangladesh to the right path in three and a half years of rule.

“Had he survived, Bangladesh's economic progress would have accelerated. However, Bangabandhu's dream of a golden Bengal is being fulfilled under the leadership of prime minister Sheikh Hasina.”

In his welcome speech, the FBCCI president Md Jashim Uddin said that Bangladeshi people could not be entrepreneurs if Bangladesh was not independent. Bangladesh's independence has made today's business success and economic development possible.

“The FBCCI has organized the 50th anniversary of the victory out of that sense of responsibility.”

Popular bands perform music on Wednesday evening, the 15th day of the 16-day "Bijoyer 50 Bochhor: Laal Sobujer Mohotshab" organized by FBCCI at Hatirjheel amphitheatre in the capital.
