Truck driver placed on two-day remand

The court has granted police a two-day remand to interrogate the truck driver, Razu Ahmed, in a case filed over the death of three members of a family in a road crash at Trishal of Mymensingh.

The deceased are: Jahangir Alam, 42, his expectant wife Ratna Begum, 32, and their six years old daughter, Sanzida.

Mymensingh chief judicial magistrate court judge Md Taijul Islam passed the order on Wednesday.

Trishal police station officer-in-charge Main Uddin said police sought a five-day remand to interrogate Razu Ahmed, but the court granted a two-day remand.

Earlier on Monday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Razu from Savar in Dhaka in a case filed by Mustafizur Rahman, father of deceased Jahangir Alam, over the road accident that claimed the lives of three people.
