PRAN wins Standard Chartered-Channel I Agro Award

PRAN Group’s sister concern PRAN Agro Business Limited has received Standard Chartered-Channel I Agro Award-2019 for outstanding contribution in agricultural sector of the country.

Agriculture minister Abdur Razzak handed over a crest and certificate to PRAN-RFL Group director Uzma Chowdhury at a program held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in the capital on Friday evening, says a press release.

This year, awards were given in eight different such as farmer of the year – male; farmer of the year – female; heroes for change; jury special; best agricultural organisation in research, innovation and technology; best agricultural organisation in support and execution; best agricultural exporter and lifetime achievement award.

PRAN agro business got the jury special award for significant contribution in agricultural sector.

Channel I managing director Faridur Reza Sagar, Standard Chartered Bank chief executive officer Naser Ezaz Bijoy and winners of different categories were also present at the program.

PRAN works with 100,000 contractual farmers across the country. The group collects mango, tomato, cassava, spice, rice, milk from the farmers and manufactures agro-processing products, the press release adds.
