Joler Gaan enthrals Kolkata

It was an ordinary Saturday for many Kolkata dwellers.

But for the music-lovers who gathered in South Kolkata, the day was special as Bangladeshi band Joler Gaan drenched them with a fiesta of soulful music.

It was the second day of a three-day programme arranged by local organisation ‘Sohoj Porob’.

The urban folk-fusion band Joler Gaan dedicated their performance to Bangladeshi folk legend Baul Samrat Shah Abdul Karim on his birth centenary.

Joler Gaan took the Kolkata audience to an ethereal world of soulful music, performing a total of 12 numbers in the programme.

Band member Jarnal said, "We are amazed at the hospitality we received from the people of Kolkata."
