Ministry accused of supporting ‘Kelor Kirti’ release

Leaders of Bangladesh Film Exhibitors' Association on Thursday alleged that the information ministry has provided an ‘extraordinary support’ to the release of Indian film, ‘Kelor Kirti’ in Bangladesh, says news agency UNB.
They made the allegation at a press conference held at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in the city.
The association leaders also alleged that the ministry is demonstrating a 'double standard' regarding the import-export issue of films.
They claimed that India wants to dominate and capture the Bangladesh film market in the name of film export.
Association president Saiful Islam Chowdhury said there is a committee to look into the issue of film export and import.
“However, Venkatesh Films which produced ‘Kelor Kirti’ does not want to obey the committee’s decision,” he said.
