China provides medical support to 30 OIC countries

China has so far provided medical support and sent medical teams to nearly 30 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) during the COVID-19 pandemic, reports UNB.

The Chinese embassy in Dhaka informed this in a social media post on Saturday.

"In the fight against COVID-19, #China is with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation #OIC," the post reads.

"China has provided medical supplies or sent medical teams to nearly 30 OIC countries, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Yemen in #Asia."

The country has supported Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Egypt, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Sudan, Togo, Tunisia and Uganda in Africa as well.

China has granted zero tariff treatment for 5,161 more Bangladeshi products in the Chinese market effective from 1 July.

A total of 8,256 Bangladeshi products will come under the 97 per cent of products that would be exempted from tariff.

Earlier a 10-member medical expert team from China visited Bangladesh and provided suggestions in fighting against coronavirus pandemic.
