Shakib hits fastest World Cup 100 for Bangladesh

Top all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan scored the fastest hundred by a Bangladeshi player in World Cup history on Saturday in pursuit of the Tigers' 387 for a win against England at the Cardiff Wales Stadium of UK.
Shakib reached his ton off 95 deliveries with nine fours and one six. At the end of 37 overs, Bangladesh posted 203 runs for four wickets.
On 13 March 2015, Mahmudullah scored a century off 112 deliveries against New Zealand in the World Cup.
In today's match, Shakib partnered with Mushfiqur Rahim for 107 runs but Mushfiqur departed for 44 runs and Mohammad Mithun followed him without scoring.
Before this match, Shakib made two fifties (75 and 64) in Bangladesh's first and second World Cup matches as well against South Africa and New Zealand respectively.
Earlier, Bangladesh lost Soumya Sarkar and Tamim Iqbal. They were removed by Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes. While Soumya fell for two, Tamim scored 19 off 29 balls.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and sent England to bat first. The English side posted 386 for six wickets in 50 overs, which is the highest team total against Bangladesh in the World Cups.
Jason Roy hit 153 for 121 with 15 fours and five sixes. It was his first century in the World Cup.
Along with him, Jonny Bairstow (51) and Jos Buttler (64) also hit the fifties.
For Bangladesh, Mohammad Saifuddin and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took two wickets each while Shakib and Mustafizur Rahman bagged one wicket each.
