46th BCS preliminary exam on 9 March
A total of 338,000 candidates applied for the 3,140 vacant posts
The preliminary test of 46th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination will take place on 9 March. The two-hour exam will begin at 10:00 am and end at 12:00 pm.
The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) issued a notice in this regard on Thursday.
The notice said that the examination will take place in eight divisional cities complying with the health safety guidelines. The seat plan and other instructions will be published on the BPSC and Teletalk websites in due time.
A total of 338,000 candidates applied for the 3,140 vacant posts. A BPSC member told Prothom Alo on the condition of anonymity, “It is not a small number. Those who noted a decline in application are not right.”
On 30 November 2023, the BPSC published the circular for the 46th BCS examination, with 3,140 vacant positions under different cadres, while the job aspirants applied from 10 to 31 December.
Of the posts, 1,682 are for assistant surgeon, 16 for assistant dental surgeon, 920 for education, 274 for administration, 10 for foreign affairs, 80 for police, 14 for Ansar, 49 for family planning, 26 for fisheries, and 65 for public works cadres.
