NU VC urges mess owners to be sympathetic to students

The vice chancellor of National University on Sunday urged the owners of students' messes to be considerate in charging rent from the students studying in colleges affiliated with the National University.

In a press release on Sunday, professor Harun-or-Rashid, the vice-chancellor, said that most of the students who are tenants of the messes are currently staying home due to the COVID-19 situation.

“Currently, COVID-19 has emerged as a major threat to the existence of mankind in Bangladesh and around the world. The number of deaths is increasing every day. A frightening situation is prevailing among the entire population of the country. Considering the situation, the government is making every effort.”

In this situation, the students are struggling to pay rent.

The vice-chancellor urged the owners not to put pressure on the students to pay the rent.
