Bagerhat Sadar upazila unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) president Jewel Hasan (Saddam) was not granted parole following the deaths of his wife and nine-month-old child. As a result, the bodies of his wife and child were brought to the gate of Jashore central jail around 7:45 pm in the evening of 24 January 2025 so that he could see them one last time.
