Educationists for intensifying research in higher education

Educationists at a workshop have laid emphasis on appropriate usages of citation and referencing for enriching research works of teachers.

Alongside enhancing professional skills of teachers, research works are crucial for improving standard of education, they told the workshop here.

The workshop titled Citation and Referencing was held at Smart Class Room of Computer Science and Engineering Discipline in the Dr. Sattendra Nath Bose Academic Building of Khulna University on Tuesday.

The workshop organised by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

Vice-chancellor of KU professor Md. Fayek Uzzaman inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest while Director of IQAC professor Md Sarwar Jahan presided over it.

The academics said higher education lacks enriched research works, saying availability of citation and referencing would help teachers for carrying out research works for teachers.

Professors of Urban and Rural Planning Discipline Md Zakir Hossain and professor Mohammad Ashik Ur Rahman and professor of Economics Discipline Md Nassif Ahsan addressed as the resource persons at the workshop.

Additional director of IQAC professor Mohammad Ziaul Haider delivered the welcome speech at the workshop while deputy registrar IQAC Md Nurul Islam Siddiqui conducted it.

A total of 40 teachers from different disciplines of the university participated in the workshop.
