Police info don’t corroborate Farhad’s abduction claim: Asaduzzaman

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia on Wednesday claimed that the information the police have obtained about Farhad Mazhar’s abduction do not corraborate his statement given under Section 164.
Speaking at a programme at the DMP headquarters in the capital, the police officer said everything in this regard will be known soon, after the investigation.
Asaduzzaman said the mystery over the Farhad wbduction would be solved in a day or two.
Farhad Mazhar and his family said the poet was abducted from his Shyamali’s Adabar residence early morning on 3 July and the law enforcers rescued him from Khulna 18 hours into his abduction.
Farhad in his statement given before a court under Section 164 said he was picked up by a group of miscreants by a microbus.
On 8 July, the Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque doubted if Farhad was really abducted or he himself went to Khulna.
