Mob beats man to death in capital

Local people beat a man to death suspecting him a thief at Sabujbagh in Dhaka on Thursday night, reports UNB.

Police said they rescued Hridoy, 27, in a critical condition as local people thrashed him as they suspected him to be a thief.

He was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where physicians declared him dead around 3:30am on Friday.

Anwar Hossain, a sub-inspector at Sabujbagh police station, said the locals claimed that they beat the man as he was caught while stealing in the area.
