Three killed as house catches fire in city

Three people, including two minors, were killed as a fire brook out at a house in Turag area of the city on Tuesday.

The bodies of deceased Md Jahangir, 19, Ruma Akter, 17 and Afrin, 14, were recovered from a house at Manik Mia slum’s Khalpar area at around 4:30 in the morning.

Three units of fire service worked to douse the fire which charred a two-room tin-shed house.

Sub-inspector Sajal Kumar Roy of Turag police station told Prothom Alo that the fire might have been originated from electric short circuit. The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to the police.
