Police detained 239 more people on Friday in Dhaka for breaching the restrictions set by the government to stem the transmission of Covid-19 across the country, reports UNB.
The detainees failed to show the valid reason of outing before the law enforcement agencies, said DMP additional deputy commissioner (Media) Iftekhairul Islam. Meanwhile, mobile courts fined Tk 90,410 to 74 people.
Apart from this, traffic division collected Tk 6, 99,500 as penalties from 295 vehicles for violating restrictions.
Bangladesh has been under the restriction since 23 July, barring people from leaving the home except for essential reasons. The restriction will end, according to the government, on 11 August.
