Two held with 188 bottles phensidyl in Rajshahi

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), during an anti-smuggling drive, arrested two alleged drug-peddlers with 188 bottles of phensidyl from a bordering area in the district last midnight, BGB sources here said this noon, reports UNB.

The arrested persons were identified as Noyan Sheikh, 35, son of Jamu Sheikh of Char Khidirpur area, and Ratan Sheikh, 32, son of Jamshed Ali of Shayampur area, both under Matiher Police Station in the city.

On a tip-off, a team for the paramilitary force conducted a sudden raid in Lotabona riverine area under Paba upazila and seized a mechanized boat around 12.30 am.

The operation team recovered 188 bottles of phensidyl after searching the boat and nabbed the two drug-peddlers.

1BGB Battalion Commanding Officer Lt Col Sabbir Ahmed said the detained persons were involved in drug trafficking and trading for long.
