Former secretary Shah Abdul Hannan passes away

Former secretary Shah Abdul Hannan (82) has passed away He suffered from a heart attack and died yesterday, Wednesday, while undergoing treatment for old age ailments at Ibne Sina Hospital in the capital city.

Family sources said his first namaaz-e-janaza will be held at Zuhr prayers today, Thursday, at the Dhanmondi Eidgah masjid. His second janaza will be held after Asr prayers at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

He will then be laid to rest at the Shahjahanpur graveyard in the capital city. He has left behind a son and a daughter.

Shah Abdul Hannan joined the Pakistan Finance Service in 1963. He served as secretary of the finance minister's internal resources division, chairman of the National Board of Revenue and in other key capacities of the government administration. He also served as chairman of Islami Bank after retirement.
